What political person was being Frodo?

John R.R. Tolkien

      Dear Mr. Sanchez,

Your vague question seems to mean that you wish either to know like whom of our real world political personalities Frodo was, or to know what kind of political mind he had. In the first case, the answer is no one; in the second case, very little. Hobbits are not a very political people. Thanks to their rusticity and simplicity, they stay far above such corruption and all they need to strive for is an orderly household with as few Lobelia Sackville-Baggins as possible. The downside to this is when an external Power comes in to take control, as we read in the Return of the King. Gandalf probably knew this or at least somehow felt this sort of danger, for without him Merry and Pippin would have surely stayed behind the Company at the bidding of Elrond, while later these two Hobbits, now quite grown after toils and suffering (and some Ent-draught), were instrumental in raising the rebellion of their people against Saruman's bandits. But these events have a very special place in hobbit history, and if this people were as politically-minded as we are, Samwise would probably never have been elected Mayor seven times!

Sincerely,
J. R. R. T.
