Most Esteemed Ladyship!
It
is with the greatest honour and excitement that I submit this letter of
acceptance. With the noblesse in the country for the summer, I
presently find myself in the happy circumstance of having a little free
time in which to pursue my own amusements. I am, as it were, between
commissions, and after the exertions of composing and producing Le Nozze di Figaro
earlier in the year, I am quite loathe to commit myself to anything
more strenuous than an occasional game of boules with my friends, a
glass of Pilsner in my favourite café, and answering letters. So you
see, I am quite pleased with the prospect of conversing with your
guests and I am honoured to remain
