I'm your biggest fan!

    My Dear, and Lovely Queen,

Let me start by telling you that I have the disadvantage of being unable to speak your beautiful French language. I know it must be hard to hear from us Americans. I want you to know that you are a wonderful person and to pay no heed to what those terrible people say. I have done alot of research on you, and I do believe you were treated unimaginably terribly! But I'm glad you are in a place where those mean people can't hurt you anymore. I must ask my Lady, have you seen the new movie made about yourself? If so, I'm dying to know what you think of it. Do you think the actress did a good job at capturing your character? I must admit, I was afraid that the movie whould give the impression that you were a horrible person. I can't tell you how releaved I am! Maybe it got across to some people that you were greatly misunderstood and viciously lied about. Many people these days see the French Revolutionaries as despicable and animal like. They don't view them as heros at all. I look forward to hearing back from you Madame, I am a very big fan of yours and I hope we can speak again.

Yours always,

Dustin L.

Dear Dustin,

It is a great pleasure for me to have received your letter here, in my prison of La Conciergerie. I have no idea why and how your letter, and those of the people from your time, are able to get to me but I am very glad they do. It is all very special to me.

Monsieur Dumontais was kind enough to explain to me what is a movie and he also told me about the particular movie you are writing to me about. I have to say it touches me deeply that not all the people from your time think bad things about me. I can see this in your letter. Your words are comforting for me, they really are. I only wish those Revolutionnaries would understand things as you do. But, was is really important to me now, is that they don’t do anything bad to my children. That is really my only worry.

But, dear Dustin, I am not losing hope. May I ask you to say a prayer for them?

Thank you for your nice letter and please write again if you wish to do so.

My Dear Queen,

It was of the utmost honor to hear from you. My art teacher loves you too, she has actually been to your palace. She tells me that a famous portrait once hanged in your bedroom. Back then, it probably wasn't that famous, but today it is the most valuable painting in the world. The painting is called the «Mona Lisa». It was painted by Leonardo da Vinci. Lady Josephine brought it to your palace before you moved in. Do you remember the painting at all? If so, what did you think of it?

There is now a doll company by the name of Madame Alexander. They make beautiful dolls! They made one doll of your likeness and it is absolutly beautiful! I went to a toy store and saw it and I absolutly loved it! I planned to lay it away after Christmas. To my suprise, my grandparents gave it to me for Christmas! I was shocked, but greatly pleased. She is so beautiful, just like youQ You will also be happy to know that no dolls have been made in the likeness of Madame du Barry!

I hope this letter reaches you, and I'll be looking forward to your next letter. I will pray for your children, and I hope you find some comfort in the dark place where you are now. Thank you for taking time to read my letter.

Yours Always, Dustin L.

My dear Dustin,

Thank you for your prayers. That really touches my heart deeply. My poor children, they need all the prayers they can get. I am so worried about them. Who knows what is going on now at the Temple? You know, the worst thing about being held here is not the cold, the people nor not knowing what will become of me. It is really the fact that I can not be with my dear children anymore and all my thoughts are always with them.

I know about the great artist that is Leonardo Da Vinci, but I have to say I am not sure who is Lady Joséphine.

So there are dolls of me? I do like the idea! I always liked dolls, some of them are so beautiful.

Please write again, dear Dustin. It’s a pleasure to receive your letters.
