Christmas 1788

Can you recall where your two sons (Louis-Joseph and Louis-Charles) spent Christmas in 1788? (This was Louis-Joseph’s final Christmas – he died 6 months later.) Did the two boys spend this particular Christmas together or in separate places? Any clues you could give me would be extremely helpful. Thanks very much!

 Dear James,

As best as I can remember, we all spent that Christmas in Versailles.  What makes me think that is that, two days later, on December 27th, the King held a very important Conseil, which I attended, where it was decided to double the Tiers-États representatives for the upcoming General Estates.  It is the best I can recall.  Forgive me, my situation is so difficult these days... my memory is not what it used to be.
