Chemy

Give me some details about you.  Give me some personal advice on chemy.

 Dear Matthieu,

What is it you want to know about me? What kind of advice on chemistry do you need? Your questions are not specific enough.

Yours sincerely,

Victor

Sorry.  What l want to know is who invented chemistry?  What is the person's name?  What was the first materials he used to do all the experiments?  Thanks.

Dear Matthieu,

Chemistry is one of the most ancient subjects studied by humans. In many ways, the thrust of civilization has been trying to alter substances from their natural forms (how they are found in nature) into more useful forms. Ancient civilizations knew how to perform many such useful transformations. Each of the following techniques was discovered before 1000 B.C., and are now associated with the various branches of chemistry:
• Making colored pigments for use in paintings and cosmetics
• Fermenting grain and fruit into beer and wine
• Converting milk into cheese
• Making dyes
• Rendering fats into soap
• Producing pottery, enamel and glazes
• Separating copper and other metals from their ores
• Making alloys like bronze
• Making glass
• Separating useful chemicals from plants for use as medicines
Over the course of time, what chemists investigate has broadened to include six major areas: analytical chemistry (analysis of the composition, structure and purity of materials), biochemistry (the chemistry of living systems), chemical engineering (applying chemistry principles to industrial applications), inorganic chemistry (the chemistry of the metals and nonmetals), organic chemistry (the chemistry of carbon-hydrogen compounds and their relatives) and physical chemistry (the physical properties of compounds, how they react, and how they interact with energy).

I hope I answered your questions. If it isn't the case, feel free to send me another message.

Yours sincerely,

Victor Frankenstein

Hi, my dearest friend.

It's Matthieu. I have a test next week and I want you to tell me all about acids and alkaline. Thanks and also, where do you live?

Hi Matthieu,

I would love to help you but I can't. Your question is pretty vague. Could you make it more precise?
What is more, I have never heard of such a thing as alkaline.
Don't forget I am living in the eighteenth century.

Yours sincerely,

Victor Frankenstein

Sorry, I did not know.  I do not deserve to be your friend.
