Louis,
Will youngsters of today ever start to turn to
traditional jazz, or will they remain saturated in the mediocrity that
today's «pop music» offers? How can we foster a love of your music in
the souls of the young?
John Young
Play it, Johnny boy. But you shouldn't play it anytime,
'specially not
when kids ain't ready. Wait for them to ask you: hey old Pops, what is
it that use to make you swing in those times of yours? Then go for a
few Satchmo records.
If they don't ask, don't you even bother.
They'll find their own music their own way, just like we found ours.
This music lovin' thing ain't preachin', it's swingin'...
Cheers,
Dippermouth
