All Apologies

      Hi Kurt,

In the song "All Apologies", in utero, I keep on hearing

Feminist Assault
Everything is my fault
I'll take all the blame
I'll proceed from shame

where, on the CD booklet, the lyrics are

Find my nest of salt
Everything is my fault
I'll take all the blame
Aqua seafoam shame

What do you think about that?

Kurt Cobain

      Hi Claire,

How are you?

Well I'm so happy that someone like you knows so much about me and I feel a little confused.

You're right ! On the album I sang what you wrote, but I suppose you know that the text written on the album is the original text, I mean the official lyrics.

But did you try to understand the song, you'll understand why I did it : all apologies is absolutly an ironic song, I wrote it after a quarrel with Courtney Love.

I wish my answer satisfied you. What else? How old are you? Where are you from?

Love, peace, empathy, bye

I was very happy to get an answer from you, Kurt. Then, I did not know what to write back.

I guess I waited to be in a sad mood to do it. That's where I am, right now, in the blue...

I just put All apologies in my CD-player and put on my earphones. Now, your voice comes directly in my mind. I bought this CD 3 years ago, because of a guy I knew, who loved that album.

And I began loving it too. A lot. I also love the Unplugged one. The first song that comes to my mind is The man who sold the world, from Bowie. For now, I can't find any question to ask you. I'd rather be chatting. I am
in an ocean of sadness. Already too many questions I can't answer in my life. I am tired of questions.

Hope I am not too boring...

bye, now

Kurt Cobain

      Well Claire,

I wish that this sadness'll leave you soon!

I hope you to write me later, but these last days, I'm quite busy. We have to prepare our tour with Dave and Chris. Very much work!

See ya.

Kurt Cobain.
